< Back | To the Hippo | Forward >The CheetahNow, the Cheetah is not specifically written about in the Bible, but it has been a part of Israel's ecology, since ancient times. And, we have reports of sightings of the Cheetah as late as 50 years ago. Unfortunately, there are no longer any Cheetahs in the land of Israel. The Cheetah is the fastest land animal in the world, reaching speeds of 110 kilometres (70 miles) an hour over short distances. (After such a run, it is virtually defenseless to other animals stealing its food - or even attacking them!) DID YOU KNOW: That the Cheetah's claws don't retract like other cats' claws do?
